PostSubject: I need help on diet   I need help on diet EmptySat Oct 27, 2012 1:22 pm

Ok i have 3 gliders and i have two vary picky eaters and they dont like fruits but watermelon. I have them on reb diet
2 jars baby chicken
4 oz apple juice
4 tb baby c
2 tb wmro.
they love this but it never makes much so i thought i would try the LGRS suggies soup but i havent got it in the mail yet and im have problems with getting the juice from like hy vee i didnt see them grr. It seems that this diet you have to add alot of extras to it and they are vary pick i gave them yogurt nope wont eat, cottage cheese they liked, oranges nope, cucumbers nope im in need of help. They will not eat HPW nor will they eat BML any fruits but the one. They do like dry fruits tho.

Should i just leave them on this and dont change them or try something better for them?

All five of my littles love LGRS! They lick up every little drop.

With LGRS you can add protein (in addition to fruits and veggies) such as eggs or boiled chicken. Mine love both.

Just keep testing fruits out, all sugar gliders are different and enjoy different foods.
I personally would not use the dry fruits for a main course but I would use them for treats, I always use fresh fruits/veggies.

Heres a list of safe fruits and veggies to help guide you. Good Luck!

Do you mean the papaya juice and mango juice?

I emailed the maker of LGRS some time ago asking this question as well and here is his response:

We get big jugs of mango juice at Costco. Papaya juice you can get
at Spanish grocery stores or you can buy it on line. Just use google to
search on "Papaya Nectar" or "Papaya Juice" and you will get lots of hits.
Here is an example:

Here is a Papaya Puree that is 100%

And Mango Puree
[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

"Native Forest" Sells canned Organic Mango and Papaya in cases of 6.

Alternatively you can use this website [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] to find a Farmers Market near you or search for Papaya and Mangoes in the keywords.

I still hope you can find Papaya and Mangoes near you, but if not I think I would go with the canned as the juice says there is 0% Calcium in the Papaya which is either a fluke or the pasteurization does something.

Sometimes the best way to get gliders to eat other fruits and veggies is to feed their favorites once in a blue moon or only as treats.
