Prior to our move, we were taking fecal samples from our sugar gliders' cage and getting their fecal float/smear tests done once every season--basically once every 3 months--just as a routine "let's see how we're doing." Sadly, when we moved, we skipped Spring. This Monday or Tuesday, we're back on schedule! Our vet charges $15 for the float & $15 for the smear test. So for $30, we can just bring in a baggie of their cage mess and check em both out.
We're still going to take them in for their yearly Wellness Exam (that's up in Autumn) but I like to get their fecals tested every now & then.
