Don't Be in the Pits! Have a BALL When Making Ball Pits! :)

All too often I hear people ask, "What goes in to a ball pit?" Well, it's all up to personal preference. But here are a few ideas.

For starters, chose your ball pit container. Big or small--or, WHY CHOOSE? Go for both for variety.



YOU CAN... be a Purist and use traditional materials here: Wiffle Balls, golf balls, an actual ball pit ball from a kid's ball pit, Easter Eggs big and small!

YOU CAN...make a toy bin using rubber duckies (and other rubber animals), rings, bracelets...





YOU CAN...have a ball pit using JUST POM POMS (*Caution: make sure to test your pom poms to ensure they do NOT pull apart. Also, NO SMALL pom poms, as these, too, can be a choking hazard. Use sizes medium & large pom poms only!)



Don't forget you can use these great materials, too! The plastic shapes, army men, semi-rings, and of course, the plastic tooth fairy treasure chest which is PERFECT for foraging!



YOU CAN...toss everything I've listed together in one big bowl as a floor toy!



OR you can create one of these shelving toys and do a different layer for each, for a truly textural experience! OMG, different stuff on EVERY LEVEL! (It will blow your suggies' minds! Use with caution...too much fun can be had here for all involved!)

You can find those baskets at Walmart, Target or even the dollar stores like Dollar General and Family Dollar. Just make sure that you are getting ones that are the heavier plastic. Some of the ones at the dollar stores are too flimsy to use like this.

They're all great ideas, I really like the multiple shelves.

Some stores also sell large, hard plastic jacks. I bought the soft ones at first, then found the hard plastic ones, I forget which store, lol. I gave the soft set to my granddaughter and threw the hard ones in the play bin.

I got the plastic storage totes at Target, in the bargain bin area up front. They have the best "bang for your buck". Seriously good quality plastic for cheap! XD

Mine LOVE there Pom pom ball pit. Just made one for Emmett last night and now he has pom poms all over his cage!

I used to have several of those plastic mini Easter eggs, I have used most of them in my foraging toys, so now I don't have many left, lol. I picked up some plastic jingle balls, they have larger slits in them so the nails shouldn't get caught & the bells inside are made of plastic. I will be adding a couple to some toys, but the rest will go in the Wodent playbin.
