Subject: buying a used cage Mon Jun 11, 2012 9:31 pm
i was thinking of buying her a bigger cage something like what you would put a mcaw in. But they are metal and sometimes they do begin to rust. Is there any problem with getting her a metal cage and what if it did rust some is there rust stuff for that that would be safe or do they sell something like the pvc coating you can spray it with?

Metal cages are not ones that should be used for Sugar Gliders. Reason being, is they do rust which can cause UTI's from the urine mixed with the metal.
Your little ones will me safer in one that is PVC Coated Wire.

do you know if the big pet stores like petsmart etc sell large cages pvc coated? i guess i could call them lol but for some reason i dont trust the sales ppl like i do yall because yall arent trying to make a sale i guess and would tell me anything. how do i know a pvc coated from a platic type coating etc thanks
