Rules on Posting Re-home/Rescue Ads

Is this section an opportunity for people to post CL ads of rescues and re-homes from their state like a free for all or is it only for individuals who actually have possession of the glider looking to be re-homed?

I asked because it is "illegal" to post re-home and rescue ads on GC when you do not actually own the glider and at GG it is scorned when you post rescue ads from CL, so are there guidelines here?

Nope.. honestly, if it gets out of hand with people posting every CL ad out there we may restrict it a bit but anything is welcome, really.. If you see a glider in need and you'd like to try to help them out.. by all means, do so! It's also for people who do actually own the gliders and want to find them a new home, too, though.. So either way is welcome!

Here ya go, I even made it it's own section so people can still share without worrying about it getting lost in people directly rehoming theirs.. so it'll still get seen and it's welcome to be shared.

Right on! That is a wonderful idea! People should have the freedom to post CL ads but in a way that is not confusing. What a relief, to have a forum with freedoms. Sweetness. I will go test the new section out! Ha!

well make sure you tell people that we have a CL section lol it is nice to have a section for this

I'm so glad you like it.. I love being able to have custom user icons and signatures, too.. a little bit more of a personal feel.

There really aren't any rules here just yet.. and honestly, I think we'd all like to keep it pretty relaxed. So far there doesn't seem to be a need to have much, but if for some reason we have to we'll notify everyone and post the rules somewhere easy to find.


But I definitely agree on this, this way it has it's own area.. people who don't want to see CL ads don't have to and those who would like to or want to share are able to. No problems, really. Thanks again for asking, it was a great idea!

I love that we can try to help gliders from Craigslist on here since most of the ones I have seen have gone to owners who know little about them from Pocket Pets. Most other forums discourage adopting from there, but recommend rescues- to me its almost the same, just without the middle man.

I agree totally... The ones on CL too often end up with others who aren't knowledgeable on gliders and end up on CL AGAIN before ever getting to a rescue IF they ever do.. I see no point in telling people not to adopt from there. Hey, I'd just as much suggest a breeder as I am one and there is something special to take from getting joeys.. but the gliders on CL need homes just as much!

I definitely agree with people buying from breeders too as well as adopting from rescues, I just think that they all need homes and it shouldn't matter where you get them so long as they're going to good knowledgeable hands. I know that not everyone is able to handle gliders that they adopt from CL because the ones I've gotten tend to be fairly aggressive and have needed a lot of work with bonding, I understand that not everyone is able to put forth the extra work and handle the extra nips. So I think that no matter where they came from they are all little gifts!
