| Nibbler is an adorable name.. I am sorry about Kadi though. ): If you'd like to share any time we have a memorial section in the forum for people to share stories about their fuzzy family members that are sadly no longer with us. Welcome to the forum though! We're glad to have you! Please feel free to ask any questions you'd like! Also, when you're ready to look for a new companion for little Nibbler you may want to try our classifieds section. I just added a 'looking for' area for people to post ads if they are looking for a glider for whatever reason! | |

| Helo all and thank ypu for the welcome and condolences. I do not think I'm going to get another glider though. Do you think nibbler will be okay alone? She lived with me two years alone and 4 years with kadi. | |

| Welcome!
Personally I think now that she's had the experience of having a cagemate it's gonna be tough on her to be alone. It is definatley a vicious cycle since they need a cage mate. | |

| Here's my reason for leaning towards not getting one and let me know what you think. Nibbler is 7 or 8 years old. Wouldn't I have to get another her age? And mostly I don't know I could afford another glider. I don't make much money. I didn't realize how much it cost to take care of my little girls when I got them. The vet visits this month alone have been more than my rent alone. Kadi was a very aggressive glider and it made me miss time with nibbler. I was thinking I could spend a lot of time with my little girl and she would be okay. Loosing kadi was one of the hardest things I have done and I can't imagine having to loose nibbler much less get another and eventually loose it too. I hope I don't come off selfish. If nibbler won't be okay alone ill get another. That's why I got kadi anyways because everyone told me nibbler HAD to have a friend so I broke down and got kadi. | |

| No, you don't have to get one the same age, it is recommended to have your second at least 2/3 the size of your first, but I think an adult glider will be fine. As far as $ you could get a rehome, the general rule for rehomes is you don't pay except maybe reimburse for neuter on males. I realize you can spend all the time with her, but you are not her size or a glider so you can't play with her like another glider, or groom her like another glider, or talk to her not another glider. Especially since she did have a friend you wouldn't want to risk her getting depressed. I understand you're in pain though. I would suggest finding someone local-ish with rehomes, go meet them & find a really nice one. I know it will be hard & if you need to talk we are here. | |
